Despite facing the hardships of poverty, Dr. Sahib earned a reputation at a young age by selflessly serving the common people in the medical field. His passion for education emerged from his medical service, inspired solely by the late Dr. Prabha J. Magdum. Motivated by her, he established the Jayprabha English School and began his journey in the educational field.

Observing the struggles and lack of educational facilities for poor students, especially in the rural areas of Shirol Taluka and surrounding villages, he recognized the need for accessible education. With a determined vision, he founded the Dr. J. J. Magdum Trust and obtained approval for a Polytechnic College, thus lighting the torch of an educational revolution in Western Maharashtra. It was Dr. Prabha Magdum's idea that led to the establishment of this trust, which today stands as a pioneer in the field of education.

Through the trust, institutions like Polytechnic, Homeopathic Medical, Engineering, D. Pharmacy, Ayurvedic, and Nursing colleges have been successfully established, along with Yashwantrao Chavan Open University and Modi Hospital. The concept of Late J.T.P.G. was also implemented. Currently, 17 educational institutions operate under this trust, with Dr. J. J. Magdum College of Engineering receiving accreditation from NBA, New Delhi.

Thousands of students from these institutions have gone on to hold high positions across various states and countries. In recognition of his exceptional contributions, he was honored with numerous awards including:

• Priyadarshini Indira Gandhi Award (2001)
• Jaysingpur Bhushan (2004)
• Jeevan Gaurav and Gratitude Award (2004)
• Samaj Bhushan (2005)
• Dr. Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil Social Service Award (2001)
• And other honors from the Phi Foundation.

During his tenure as Mayor of Jaysingpur Municipality, he initiated significant development works such as roads on Laxmi Road, community halls, schools, and drainage systems to improve the city.

Dr. Magdum served as the Chairman of Bharat Urban Bank, Jaysingpur for three consecutive terms. He also held leadership roles in various institutions like the Medical Trust, Senior Citizens’ Association, and Rotary Club. With over 40 years in municipal politics, including three terms as Mayor, he played a vital role in enhancing the quality of life in Jaysingpur, making him a true pride of the city.

He never lived for himself. Constantly motivated by the desire to solve problems and make things better, he remained active with the unwavering support of the late Dr. Prabha Magdum. His humorous and approachable personality made him beloved by all. He had zero tolerance for negligence in work. He would always celebrate his birthday by organizing free health camps for patients.

His simple lifestyle and high thinking made everyone yearn for his blessings and guidance. Being in his presence taught people how to overcome challenges and live a fulfilling life. This great personality passed away on August 14, 2012.

The institutions established by Dr. and Mrs. Magdum under the Dr. J. J. Magdum Trust have grown tremendously and are now like a sprawling banyan tree. The current chairperson Mr. Vijayraj Magdum, along with Mrs. Sonali Magdum, has skillfully continued this legacy. Over the past year, the trust's work has flourished even more, with efforts to bring more structure and discipline. They have also expanded educational facilities by starting:

• Second shift diploma courses
• Science and Commerce Junior College
• I.T.I. College
• Plans are also in place to start a P.G. Center in the Ayurvedic Medical College.

Their goal is to nurture competent and skilled students across all fields through the institutions under Dr. Magdum’s name. The Trust is also working to establish itself as a research hub in Western Maharashtra.

This educational responsibility has been handled admirably by Mr. Vijayraj Magdum and Mrs. Sonali Magdum, with a strong commitment to excellence. Currently, the Trust has about 5,000 students and 1,000 teachers actively involved.

Without any special support, he created an entire world from scratch. This great man took on multiple roles—grandfather, doctor, mayor, bank chairman, social reformer, and visionary—and kept on working tirelessly. The institutions he built continue to grow and serve countless beneficiaries. He had a strong work ethic and never left any task incomplete. What wealthy individuals could not accomplish, he did with his own strength and dedication.

All of this was made possible with the invaluable support of Dr. Prabha Magdum. People often wondered how he managed to accomplish so much and that too, so effectively—it’s almost a mystery. It feels as though God had sent him not just for Jaysingpur but for all of Maharashtra.

Thanks to his and Dr. Prabha Magdum’s contribution, many families today are living better lives. They brought unique prestige to Jaysingpur. The citizens loved them deeply and honored them with the Jaysingpur Bhushan Award. Dr. Magdum’s remarkable work was recognized with numerous other accolades as well.

Instead of becoming a hermit or a politician, he chose to be a true human being, selflessly helping thousands of families. His service in education and healthcare is far greater than any title. Mr. Vijay Magdum and Mrs. Sonali Magdum are walking in his footsteps, passionately upholding his legacy. By starting new academic courses this year, they have demonstrated their leadership and dedication to his vision.
